Team Development:

Our Team Development solutions are a sophisticated approach based on formal and focused team intervention techniques, having explicit outcomes linked to individual, team or organisational desired outcomes.

Regardless of facilitator input, all of our Team Development interventions are based on our philosophy of Learning Environments:  laboratories where simulations are designed to mirror specific situations, challenges or tasks in the workplace.  Learning Environments deliver a number of advantages:
  • They allow teams to recognize and reflect upon real-world situations, tasks and challenges;

  • They provide opportunities to practice and refine systems and techniques for managing these situations, tasks and challenges; and

  • They illustrate team development areas and bring theory components to life.

Broadly, our Team Development interventions fall into three linked categories:

  • Evaluation – assessment of where the team is now (questionnaires, profiling tools);

  • Rehearsing – the workplace environment is mirrored by using simulators (team activities, challenges, business games, team tasks);

  • Accelerate – learning is accelerated by debriefing techniques, input required and feedback mechanisms to monitor results.

The preparation of any Team Development intervention is supported by our continued awareness of the latest research about teams, team development and organisational development related topics.  We can develop team programs to suit a wider context by including other disciplines such as coaching and leadership, provided with or by our regional community partners.
