Solutions |
|
In order to fully meet our clients' needs we must
adopt a consulting approach: The identification,
development and delivery of a solution (moreover,
the best possible solution — not just a workable
solution) and not simply the sale of a "product".
|
"Our
programs are individually tailored for each client" |
|
The delivery of this solution starts with questions,
the first of which must be: 'What are you trying to
achieve?' Until we know the answer to this question
we cannot start to develop the solution. |
|
The solution may, of course, be an existing product,
the combination of elements of other products or
something that we have to develop from scratch.
Unless we hand-make a program for you we will,
because each solution differs even subtly, tailor an
existing product or products to deliver the required
solution. However, under normal circumstances this
is simply part of our approach and does not attract
any additional fees. |
|
However, there are occasions when the circumstances
are so specific that a solution has to be developed
from scratch to address them. An example of this
includes the design and conduct of IBM's Venue
Simulator prior to the Olympic Games. |
|
As might be expected, this is a more time-consuming
process. The duration is typically a day upwards.
However, the time development investment can be
realised if there is the potential for a number of
teams to use the solution. |
|
Learning Environments |
|
Results are vital. Our experience within Improving
Connections and anecdotal evidence from our clients
is that many of the objectives and plans derived
from team development interventions are rarely
implemented. |
|
Our belief is that many of these team programs adopt
a teaching environment; at various stages during a
program, facilitators, guides or group leaders
conduct a review or debrief and propose changes or
improvements. At its most formal, this involves
objective setting sessions that list the various
strategies and approaches that the team will adopt
when they return to work in order to transfer the
learning from the program to the workplace. However
sensitively conducted, this approach can be
distilled into the phrase 'You should…' |

"Learning
environments that encourage team dialogue" |
|
Our aim is to deliver learning environments that
reproduce enough similarities to the challenges,
tasks and opportunities facing the participants in
their real world that they identify what they
wish to change or reinforce. In short, an approach
that inspires the participants to say 'WE should…' |
|
Taken to its logical conclusion, this learning
environment will also provide the participants with
risk-free opportunities to practice and refine new
ideas, systems, processes etc. |
