For those who don't know each other: have them
introduce themselves by saying their name and an
adjective that describes them which begins with the same
letter. This is a fantastic method for helping
everyone remember each others names.
-
Need to ensure one person speaks at a time? Bring
in a ball or something fun to toss around - those who
have it are the only ones who can talk. You can
also add in a time limit.
-
Want some creativity? Try charades. Each
person has 30-60 seconds to "tell" the others what they
did on the weekend.
-
If the presentation needs an energy break, grab some
juggling balls (see your $2 shop). Not only does
juggling induce some activity, it also clears the head.
-
Does your message need reinforcing? Think about
some props you could bring in - ie. sales target (ball
darts), allocating jobs (large dice) and add a good dose
of colour, especially with pens and paper.
Being active,
people are energized and stimulated - it also can add some
laughs and help to bring people together in your meeting.
